✧ Make your own costume with this print-at-home pattern bundle with English Instructions! This comprehensive pattern includes the following files in sizes UK Women's 6-24:

  • Sewing pattern pdfs for the bodysuit and cape that can be printed on A4 or Letter paper
  • PDF printable template for the foam breastplate in sizes 6-24 for home printers - Yes, you read that right, this armour template is fully graded in the same size range as the sewing pattern!
  • English guide to help you utilise your foam template - see stand alone listing for more details
  • A0 Large format printing files
  • English  sewing instructions with photos and helpful guidance and material suggestions
  • Min/max fabric estimate JPEG diagrams for the outer sizes to help you estimate how many metres to buy
  • Vectors for the cape heraldry (for cutting machines and digital use)
  • Printing and sizing instructions

✧This digital sewing pattern includes ALL of the sizes listed, a size chart can be found in the listing photos. Each size has its own print document and seam allowances are provided. Indigo Patterns is Australian owned, so we predominantly use metric measurements and all files provided are in English only.

✧This pattern does not include:

  • Any physical supplies (eg fabrics, physical paper patterns), this listing is completely digital.
  • A full costume - we sadly cannot offer fully sewn costumes, but this pattern will help guide you to make your own!
  • Patterns for accessories or 3d printing files - we love collaborating with creators in the community who specialise in props and 3d printing, links to their supporting work are provided below.

✧This sewing pattern is designed with less experienced sewers in mind due to the abundance of newcomers to the cosplay community, but please be aware that this is a deceptively complex design! The pattern does assume some common knowledge and experience with using a sewing machine/patterns in general is something you will need to have. If you're completely new to sewing, I recommend exploring the many helpful youtube videos out there that guide first-time sewers with using a sewing machine, working with a pattern and preparing supplies. Links to resources for trickier techniques however, are provided where relevant and lots of photos are accompanied by detailed explanations in the instructions.

✧This pattern is designed for woven, non-stretch fabrics (for the cape) and 50% 2 or 4 way stretch knit fabrics (for the bodysuit). Below are some suggestions for fabrics (but these are by no means exhaustive!):

  • Medium to heavy weight satin or suiting fabrics for the cape. Pleather has the ideal aesthetic but is only recommended for experienced sewers due to the added difficulty of using it for this specific design.
  • Lining fabric for the cape.
  • Stretch knit fabrics with a stretch of at least 50% for the bodysuit, 4 way stretch is preferred but 2 way will also work (though adjustments to body length may be required). Dark navy/oil slick blue and white required.
  • Stretch Interfacing and heavy interfacing/buckram.
  • Soft draping fabric for the neck ruffle - eg georgette, light weight satin.

✧You will also require:

  • Stretch sewing machine needles
  • Sewing machine with a zig zag or stretch stitch function, or a 4+ thread serger/overlocker.
  • Zipper for the bodysuit
  • Hook and eye closures for the cape
  • Velcro or snaps for rigging
  • Rivet studs and white buttons for the bodysuit
  • Shoulder pads for the cape
  • HTV (or your preferred applique type) for the cape heraldry
  • Optional elastic for the neckline finish/foot stirrups
  • 3mm eva foam - I used foam from local Aussie supplier Lumins Workshop which you can find here. This is not sponsored but hey Lumins, call me?
  • General foam work supplies - contact adhesive, box cutter, safety equipment etc
  • White fabric for the ruffles - I used whatever scrap I had on hand but a light weight woven fabric like a satin/sateen, or even a basic cotton or poplin would be totally fine.
  • Brown fabric for the straps - if you dont want to make them from foam.
  • Embellishment materials - either some 1-2mm evafoam, pleather, cricut sticker vinyl, foam half dowels or foam clay are all options for adding the gold vines. Whatever you vibe with most!
  • Stud rivets - I used studs for the 'dots' and to attach the straps.
  • Black separating zipper - or your preferred closure type for the centre back
  • Triangular foam dowels for the buckle - or if you grabbed the Dangerous Ladies Kit for her outfit, the buckles are included.
  • Your preferred finishing method - eg paints etc

✧This pattern works fabulously with these accessories/props from my beloved collaborators:

Supplies may vary depending on your preferred construction method and favoured materials. You do not need to use the same materials as me!

✧This pattern is for personal use only - this includes sewing commissions for costumes by independent creators/small businesses on a made-to-order basis. Please purchase one pattern per costume made for commission work. Commercial use, redistribution and mass production is not permitted.
