✧ Sew your own costume with this print-at-home sewing pattern with English Instructions! This comprehensive pattern includes the following files in sizes UK Women's 8-30:

  • Sewing pattern pdfs for the underdress, bolero/overskirt ensemble, collar, corset, cape and gloves that can be printed on A4 or Letter paper
  • A0 Large format printing files
  • Vector files for appliques/embellishments for use with cutting machines/vectoring software
  • English instructions with photos and helpful guidance and material suggestions
  • Min/max fabric estimate JPEG diagrams for the outer sizes to help you estimate how many metres to buy
  • Printing and sizing instructions

✧This digital sewing pattern includes ALL of the sizes listed, a size chart can be found in the listing photos. Each size has its own print document and seam allowances are provided. Indigo Patterns is Australian owned, so we predominantly use metric measurements and all files provided are in English only.

✧This pattern does not include:

  • Any physical supplies (eg fabrics, physical paper patterns), this listing is completely digital.
  • A full costume - we sadly cannot offer fully sewn costumes, but this pattern will help guide you to make your own!
  • Patterns for accessories or 3d printing files - we love collaborating with creators in the community who specialise in props and 3d printing, links to their supporting work are provided below.

✧This sewing pattern is designed with less experienced sewers in mind due to the abundance of newcomers to the cosplay community! However, it does assume some common knowledge and experience with using a sewing machine/patterns in general is something you will need to have. If you're completely new to sewing, I recommend exploring the many helpful youtube videos out there that guide first-time sewers with using a sewing machine, working with a pattern and preparing supplies. Links to resources for trickier techniques however, are provided where relevant and lots of photos are accompanied by detailed explanations in the instructions.

✧This pattern is designed for woven, non-stretch fabrics and is not suitable for knit fabrics. Below are some suggestions for fabrics (but these are by no means exhaustive!):

  • Your choice of woven dress fabrics - I used a combination of duchess satin, velveteen and suede. Any medium weight woven fabrics will be suitable, contrasting textures looks fabulous for this design.
  • Corset fabric - I used faux leather and velvet for my corset, but these are tricky to work with! Suede may be easier to handle for a leather look. A matte satin could also work well. Corsets can be made out of any fabric with the correct handling, use something that suits your experience level. This is drafted as a modified Victorian riding corset and will require structure in either a coutil/tight weave cotton lining layer, or for the main layer to be flat lined with the structural fabric.
  • Lining fabrics
  • 40% 2 or 4 way stretch knit fabric for the gloves
  • Interfacing for collars, cuffs and waistbands - medium weight woven or non-woven.

✧You will also require:

  • Dress zipper
  • Eyelets/lacing for the collar
  • Buckram for the collar and glove cuffs
  • Corsetry supplies - your choice of boning/casing/binding depending on your preferred construction methods. Lacing and eyelets of your preference.
  • Your choice of trims/lace
  • Materials for your preferred type of embellishments - eg fabric paint, fabric appliques, embroidery, HTC etc
  • Your preferred hardware for attaching accessories and rigging the costume together

✧This pattern works fabulously with these accessories/props from my beloved collaborators:

  • Dangerous Ladies props and accessories -

Supplies may vary depending on your preferred construction method and favoured materials. You do not need to use the same materials as me!
